Perpetuated Section Corner Locations

The Vanderburgh County Surveyor’s electronic records also include perpetuated section corner locations shown with state plane coordinates, National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) elevations, State Plane coordinates, and reference ties. If the user experiences difficulty viewing or using tabular data, call Doug McDonald, P.E., L.S., at 812-435-5641.

Subdivision Plats

The Vanderburgh County Surveyor’s electronic records also include perpetuated section corner locations shown with state plane coordinates, National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) elevations, State Plane coordinates, and reference ties. If the user experiences difficulty viewing or using tabular data, call Doug McDonald, P.E., L.S., at 812-435-5641.full-size scans of subdivision plats. To date not all plats are scanned. The scanning process is time-consuming and more scans are being added as time allows. Click here to be taken to more information about the scans and the directories containing the scans.

Email Site for Reporting Errors, Omissions, or Problems

The Vanderburgh County Surveyor's office strives to obtain and enter new, accurate data to the constantly growing database. Users may bring errors and omissions to the attention of the county surveyor’s office at the email link or by telephone.

Other County GIS Web Sites

Vanderburgh County maintains several GIS Web sites providing digital data useful to landowners, surveyors, engineers, cartographers, real estate developers, floodplain investigators, and persons of varied interests.

Indiana High Accuracy Reference Network (HARN)

The HARN network is critical to the spatial development of Indiana. HARN comprises 148 stations statewide, with at least one station in each county. HARN stations are permanent, high-order survey monuments. National Geodetic Survey (NGS) specifies:

  • A-order stations with a relative baseline accuracy of 5 mm + 1:10,000,000
  • B-order stations with a relative baseline accuracy of 8 mm + 1:10,000,000

Two A-order stations are located at the Indianapolis airport, and one is positioned in Bloomington. Vanderburgh County enjoys six B-order HARN stations, the highest number available in Indiana counties, which helps land surveyors to establish high-order accuracy.
